🇵🇦 Panama
This sheet assumes you know the generic FM 3.0 screens (FM 3.0 modules) and the local/centralized operation model (Methods and parameters). Here we only document what is specific to Panama.
Summary
| Tax authority | DGI (Dirección General de Ingresos) |
| Numbering | By billing point, defined by the issuer |
| Obtaining ranges | Form (manual creation) |
| Range validity | No expiration date — the numbering does not expire |
The primary range in Panama
- The range is associated with a billing point, which is indicated when creating the range and appears as its own column in the Primary ranges listing.
- No validity period: the creation form does not capture dates, and the listing does not show the Expiration column.
Enablement as issuer (reference)
To operate as an electronic issuer before the DGI, the account is configured with:
- RUC including the Check Digit (DV), which must match the RUC embedded in the digital certificate (X.509 v3, issued by a Certification Authority accredited before Panama's Public Registry).
- Security code assigned by the DGI upon enablement as an electronic issuer.
This data is loaded during account onboarding, not in FM.
Pending validation
The detail of the Panamanian document type catalog in the threshold configuration, and the eventual participation of the series in the numbering, are pending validation with the product team.
Terminology
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Billing point | Location component of the numbering: identifies the issuing point that consumes the range. |

The generic FM terms (sub-range, threshold, primary range) are defined in the general model.
